Last Saturday night we all went out to Goshen to hear the Inspirations. Talked to Archie a little bit, Martin too.

Grabbed a Singing in the Smokies ’05 brochure, AHQ is listed as appearing on July 4. Oops. There was a miscommunication somewhere along the line. We found out several months ago and corrected the situation.

You know what was absolutely refreshing about this concert? The only shred of instrumentation was a stand-up bass and a piano. No annoying blasting soundtracks to drown out everything else. The average SG group has gotten totally ridiculous with the soundtrack use at abominable levels.

Undoubtably you’ll recall my vitriolic post on classic rock. I’ve been thinking, and I must be honest. There maybe some exceptions to the rule that classic rock is 100% garbage.

There is one song I’m thinking of that conveys a remarkably profound exhortation applicable to us all. This exquisite lyric is an amazing masterpiece, a rare gem of emotive and touching poetry, the likes of which is far to uncommon in today’s music scene.

My most grandiose and pompous pontifications can’t begin to do this piece justice, so I’ll let my approximation and summary of the lyric speak for itself.

Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world

Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world
Keep on rockin’ in the free world

The following is an unsolicited testimonial from the ITF mailbag.

This reader explained how one day he had a few spare minutes to surf online and was perusing some blogs. He was becoming increasingly alarmed, disturbed, and depressed at all the unchecked depth, pomposity, and frightening attitudes displayed on so many of your average blogs.

Then he visited Iced Tea Forever.

The following direct quotes from him describe his thoughts and mental state after that visit.

“Save yourself…go to ITF!!!!!! It will lift your spirits! Oh my, what refreshment, what levity, what a most wonderful outlook on life! It refreshed my spirit blessed my soul and saved me from maniac depression! ITF saves the day again!”

“. . . seriously, ITF is a true brightspot on the landscape of Blogdom. Or Blogdumb, or whatever. My advice is to always end up with ITF, everything will go much better.”

“MORE PICS IN THE BLOG, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Thank you sir for your kind comments!

And in that spirit of peace, joy, and tranquility, here is a picture of a Utopian sunrise.
