This is the latest RC plane I’ve built. It’s the Polaris, designed by jetset44 from RCGroups.

It’s built out of Dollar Tree foamboard, hot glue, some 1/32″ plywood, and packing tape. I chose to build the 150% version, which made the build a bit more difficult. Using cheaper and flimsier foam didn’t help matters either, but it turned out pretty well.

I’m running a Turnigy D2826 brushless motor, a Turnigy 2200mAh 40C 3 cell LiPo battery, a 40 amp Grayson Hobby ESC, and an 8×4 prop.

Notice the ITF url and image!

It flies really well.

Here’s a compilation of a few video clips of it in the air. I have flown it off of water, but I don’t have any footage of that yet.

After a lot of fussing and screaming (from Josh):

Well worth it!
