As you know, whenever you refresh an ITF page, it picks a header image from random.   Stanny has been sending me more pictures of Snow Peak, and I finally got some of them up. You can look at them all at once on the header page.

Stanny’s a great photographer.  I’ve been on him for a long time about starting his own website, but so far he’s dragging his feet.

Been having some problems with this site, it appears ITF was hacked and whacked.  It wouldn’t load at all, and worse yet I was totally locked out, I couldn’t even log in to the Wordpress admin area.

When I’d view source I could see a bunch of alien javascript code, a ton of it.  I FTP’d in and found a bunch of hacker code on a lot of the WP files.   All my theme files (save one) were compromised with it too.  I cleaned them up, re-uploaded them, and wham they were immediately corrupted again.

I finally deleted all the plugins (most of them were corrupted too), re-uploaded the cleaned theme files, and it came back online.   I cleaned up the plugins and so far everything seems to be working ok.

So why did this happen?  I’m running the latest version of Wordpress.  However, not that long ago I was hit with this same type of thing, and that was before I had upgraded.  And when I was finally able to get back in today, I found a dozen or so very suspicious user accounts with very similar names and url’s.  I deleted them of course.

What I suspect is that they still had their foot in the door from the last hack, and that’s how they compromised this current version of Wordpress (2.5.1).

Hopefully I have it taken care of, it’s been a royal pain.  Thanks for nothing you slacker hackers.

She sleeps and sleeps.

And eats and eats in between naps. And cries if she’s not getting to eat soon enough!

This has been much less stressful than last time!

Allison Jean was born this morning at 9:07 (by C-section), weighing only 7 pounds and 15 ounces! She seems awfully small after her 10 pound 7 ounce big sister. She’s 19 inches long and doing really well so far. So is Mommy.

Her Apgar score at birth, 5, and 10 minutes was 9, 8, and 10.

Seeing Mommy for the first time:

Checking out her ears:

Big yawn!

Being held by cousin Derrick:

Being introduced to cousin Patrick:

Big sister Mandy!

Daddy and his two little girls:

Getting her first bath:

Not too impressed! Letting out a squeaky howl:

Much better. Sleeping peacefully with her new hat:

Here at RipChord Studios, I’ve always used n-Track for my recording software. It’s a multi-track recording program that will record as many tracks as your computer will handle. It works great and is one of the cheapest programs available.

It was created by a guy in Italy, Flavio Antonioli. He does a great job of supporting it, fixing bugs, and implementing feedback from users.

Years ago, I think it was when we went from version 2 to version 3, I had a problem. The new version wouldn’t open files created with the previous version. I sent him an email about the problem, not sure if anything would come of it or not. Not only did I get a reply very soon, but attached to the email was a new build of the program that fixed the problem!

We’re on version 5 by now. I’ve recorded several albums with it: “Purpose” from AHQ, “A Heart Like Yours” from Heartbeat, an upcoming release from my buddy Pete, and of course the stuff from Acoustic Persecution. I’ve also done quite a bit of live stuff using it on my laptop.

I recently emailed Flavio again, requesting a small feature. He emailed me back saying he would add it.

> A small thing I would find helpful is the option to add a button to the toolbar which would toggle the “Song Comments” window. I use it fairly frequently and it’s kind of a pain to have to always go through the edit menu.

> Thanks, keep up the great work!

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll add the button in the next version of the program.

Best regards,
Flavio Antonioli.

The big guns in the multi-track recording field are ridiculously high-priced. n-Track is cheap, it does what I need to do, and it does it well.

Today is our anniversary. My wife posted some pictures from two years ago on her blog.

And now there are three of us!

I thought you may be interested in what I bought my wife for our anniversary!

She likes it a lot.

As you know, I’m a sports nut, a complete fanatic. What I don’t know about sports would fit on the head of a pin.

Right. Anyway, I’m often invited to participate in athletic event outcome-predicting competitions as the control group. In other words, I toss my hat in the ring and make predictions that end up relatively equivalent to those of a chimp on too much Mountain Dew. This is to prove to the other participants that they actually know something about sports, at least if their predictions are actually better than mine!

This is a valuable service I enjoy providing. Sometimes I think the other participants are pretty embarrassed about the occasional short distance between their picks and mine.

Right now I’m in a something-or-other “bracket” having to do with basketball. You’re given a ton of basketball teams you’ve never heard of and asked to pick who’s going to beat who in several levels of somefer tournament, or “bracket.” It’s extremely complex and convoluted.

I rely on my usually uncannily surprising instinct to make my “picks.” So far it looks like I’ve let myself down a little bit, but I do have fairly close company! So it’s not all bad. I enjoy helping others try to overcome their obsessions with athletics.

It’s always fun to look at search strings for incoming traffic. Here are a few queries that Google in its infinite wisdom decided to reward with ITF:

ice tea wife
muhc care of the professional voice singers
church ladies food recipes
smuckers ice tea
forever chicken
valium before surgery wisdom teeth
halcion resistance dental anesthesia
put food in microwave
glen zehr
my melody
peace ice tea you are going to hate it
buddy smbi
endoscopy sedative “didn t” work
song with words sweet tea in them
thundercheese
potluck wedding reception phrasing
tell me how to make ice tea as good as big boys
ask for some of her sweet tea country song

These aren’t just funny, though, some are touching. I feel for the poor guy whose endoscopy sedative didn’t work, I can identify. And the halcion resistance. I’m glad I can be moral support for people like this who are in need.
