It seems that lately each month brings a new financial low here at ITF headquarters. Let me clarify, a new low in income that is, but a new high in expenses. It has been just unbelievable.
Due to this unfortunate phenomenon as well as some other circumstances, I’ve had the occasion recently to revisit the old budget. Some things need to be tightened down and readjusted. And one cut in particular pains my heart at its deepest levels.
A category which had been spiraling out of control was eating out. So no more. Slash. Cut.
I’m going to be in denial for quite some time, I think.
The last while I have really been wanting to go to Cracker Barrel. And Ryans. And that place in Bristol that Bill told me about. Not to mention going back to the Blue Gate for more ham. And what about grabbing a hamburger now and then?! It’s almost too much to fathom.
If you call us up and propose visiting a restaurant, we’re going to say no. Regretfully. Certainly not because we don’t want to.
Unless you’re buying!!!
So Morgan, nope. Not anymore.
You know what though, if I pay with a credit card. . .!!!

Don’t do it…don’t cut it out all together. Make a evning out for dinner a special event and do it once a month. Set up some sort of special fund…collect cans, special soare change can, check pay phones for left change…you can make it happen…just not as often :)

Wait til the kiddos come–kiss eating out good-bye altogether!!LOL Not really but it sure does happen a lot less than it used to and then it tends to be McDonalds $1 menu!:)Not my favorite but the kiddos enjoy!!I agree w/the above commentor-have a date nite or something–then you won’t feel totally deprived of something you enjoy!

No Ryan’s? That’s cruel. You know what this area needs…a Denny’s. I love Denny’s.

We’re with ya on this one, Tom! With Vern’s being in school full time and only one income to support us, bills mounting higher than normal lately, more expenses to come with a baby due in a month’s time, and let’s see, what else?, only sends me into deeper prayer that God will continue to meet our needs and show us what we can live without and how to make our ends meet!

Whatever you do DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD!!! But yes, you should schedule your “eat outs” and don’t eliminate all fun from your budget. I completely understand the fun and I REALLY wish we had a Cracker Barrel! I don’t think they come any further west than Idaho.
