My Mom Sent Me Flowers Yesterday
Yes she did. I got this box in the mail, and I wondered what in the world was in it. Daffodils! She sent me some last year too. Both times in the middle of a snowy and freezing winter.
She sends them sealed in a Ziploc bag with a wet paper towel rubber-banded around the bottom of the stems.
This is how they looked when I first got them yesterday.
And, this is how they look tonight!
Thanks Mom.
She reads this blog you know.

That is so sweet! Does she have to send them “overnight mail”? Here in the south, we’ve been enjoying daffodils and other early bulb flowers for a couple weeks already. It is so cheerful to bring some inside for a bouquet.
It’s time for us here to be starting to plant our vegetable gardens. (In fact, I probably should’ve started in January.) Just the early stuff. Our last killing frost will be sometime around Easter. After that, anything can go in the ground. I just love springtime!
