As you know, AHQ is no longer active. We do like to sing a little though when we happen to be together again.
Last Christmas was one of those times, as we were all together at home in Oregon. We had been invited to contribute some vocals on an upcoming project of some friends of ours, so we needed to visit a studio.
I run a recording studio here in the ITF office, but I couldn’t haul my equipment out to OR for a brief session. So I got my buddy Nathan to setup his studio for us.
We take a relaxed approach to recording.
Konrad the Handyman fixed up an elaborate headphone cable support system. He fabricated it from a quilt stand and quilt stick.
We were only together for a few days, and we didn’t have a lot of time to rehearse. So in that circumstance, you end up doing some rehearsing in the studio!

Wow!
AHQ was that close to me and I didn’t know it? I could have gone over to listen and cheer and live-blog and so forth.
My buddy This and my buddy That but not my buddy Mark?!

Mark, on several occasions I have referred to you as my buddy but evidently not on ITF. I searched but couldn’t find it. I’ll see what I can do to rectify the situation.
I forget what the specs were on that machine, but it was pretty capable. Nathan has the equipment!

I was just there 2 weeks ago, in the famous recording studio of AHQ! Of course, the quilting stands actually contained my quilt…..:)

Thanx for the heads-up about this post. It’s always great to see an AHQ Gathering, no matter where or for what reason.
Man … talk about “relaxed” ! This is one laid back group of guys.
We’ll be anxiously awaiting the sample (post) of the fruits of your labor from this special Christmas session … oughta be interesting.
Oh .. and SAHM –
Sure hope the quilt is none the worse for wear. But it looks like the stand was wired up carefully and lovingly at least. And just imagine how famous that quilt could be some 25 or 30 years from now as you explain that it was created on the AHQ Temporary Studio Stand.
