It has been freezing here lately. Yesterday when I left for work it was 20 degrees below zero.
It made me feel as if I was stuck in the great white north. When I made the long trek across the yard later in the day to get the mail, I thought, “so this is probably about what it felt like to the guy in To Build a Fire. Far too cold for human habitation.

Oh, in Utopia things are different. There’s blue sky and sunshine, I just washed my car, and Dad’s out mowing our lush, green grass! :-) I think you would find it much more habitable in Utopia.
My heartfelt sympathies…really. It’s just WRONG for it to be that cold. I do hope that warmer days are ahead for you — and soon!

For your info, Whitehorse, and the Great White North is +50F today. Snow is melting, roads are slushy, etc. etc. It is absolutly miserable. Last week was much better at -48F. At least the cars stayed clean. Have patience, Obama is going to president in a couple days and he will fix everything for you. All in the first six days, then on the 7th day he will rest!

How did I end up with not one, but two insane brothers? For surely any sane person would not deliberately live where they must put up with such climate extremes. A princess such as myself could not possibly leave the house if the temperature dipped below 0. That is way beyond the level where cozy fleece can keep one comfortable. But I admire your fortitude!

I, on the other hand, was just home in deliciously cold Pennsylvania! I tell you, when it gets cold I could plant a garden in 2 minutes flat if only the ground were not frozen!

Ah, for the wonderful 55+ degree temps that we enjoyed in Alabama last Saturday. The extreme temperatures of living in the northland are a distance memory.

Another uncomfortably warm day in the Great White North. It’s +32 degrees again. What ever happen to real winters for us real men?? We aren’t having heat strokes yet, but we keep turning the heat down in the house so we can survive this heat wave and sleep at night. Maybe AlGore is right. Is this heat wave really global?

Like global warming, it’s all in your head.

I am impressed. You are not only musical and computer-wise, you are also literary. Somehow I never expected you to reference something as highbrow as To Build a Fire. Wait, that doesn’t sound very kind. Well, take it as meant.

Oh I’m full of surprises.
But I never realized Jack London was highbrow. That does make me feel good!
