“Stanny’s” sister here… He took this going to work one morning. He drives south to Brownsville to go to work; the distant mountains (Cascades) are to his left as he drives south, which means they are to the east. The two “pointiest” peaks in the very middle I believe are the Middle and North Sisters. I will let him post either a correction or confirmation when he gets around to it!
Stanny’s photos really make me miss miss Oregon.
Maybe you could talk him out of a few more???
And I wonder if he could explain that bright spot almost dead center of the photo… Looks like the moon, or maybe an illusion. …UFO ???
My sister is correct on all accounts. I was facing ESE, so a sunrise it is. GMartin, I’m not sure that I see what you’re seein’, but it couldn’t be the moon. If it was that close to the sun, it would be nearly a new moon.

Wow!
(But it looks like a sunset to me. Which way was he facing when he took the shot?)

I used the photo for my desktop wallpaper for today and over the weekend. It’s also in my screensaver rotation.
I also used it for part of today’s post over at Panting Hart.
If that isn’t OK, please let me know.
If it is, thanks!
