This morning Paul Harvey came on with an apology. His voice was pretty scratchy, and he said, “I opened a window and influenza.”
Now he just came on for the main noon segment, and his voice is much worse. He can hardly talk. I’m really surprised he didn’t have a sub today, maybe it came on too fast to get one. Better give Fred Thompson a call for tomorrow!
Remember a while ago when Paul was off for quite a while because of his voice? I thought he was done then. I was surprised when he came back, and impressed with how strong his voice was.
At 88 years old, his voice continues to be very strong. But I’d guess his voice is also pretty susceptible to strain and sickness, which is why it can plummet so quickly.

Wow. I remember Paul Harvey from way back! It will be a sad sad day when he is no longer with us. His voice is one of a kind.

You were up in the morning?? That’s impressive as well.
Definitely right, Rob. I heard most of his noon broadcast, but hadn’t heard any explanation.

By the way, you can listen to his show at his website whenever you like. It archives a week’s worth of his broadcast at a time. Check it out here.. http://www.paulharvey.com/

We often listened to Paul Harvey when we milked cows – no, not at noon – way back in the early ’60s. Now that’s “way back”.
Also, did you remember that 43 bro Doug’s 43 birthday 43 was 43 yesterday?
