May 27 is the due date. My wife is getting more uncomfortable all the time. A week ago Saturday we ended up going in to the hospital hoping it was the real thing, but it wasn’t. Hopefully soon though.
So are we going to be forced into getting a minivan?!
Not if I can help it. I want a big 4-door car. I have a little 4-door right now, that will probably have to do for awhile.
Someday though I want an ’05 Impala. Judging from the amount of them I’ve seen since I started wanting one, I’m about the only person that doesn’t have one yet.

What really counts is does Mrs. ITF want a minivan? Uncool, yes, but so much easier on your back gettin the wee ones in and out of car seats, stroller transporting, playpens, etc, etc….I give you until child #2, then I think you’ll cave. Best wishes, whatever you do, do not sleep in front of her while she’s in labor. :)

She thinks she’s going to use her 2-door Monte Carlo! So she’s in no rush to get a minivan either.

About a year ago, we went to Edmonton to by a truck…we needed to upgrade from our Grand Am. I phoned ahead as it is about an 8hr drive from here and got about four trucks lined up to test drive. Long story short – we didn’t buy any of them so we came home.
About a week later we were driving through the Ford car lot here and saw a minivan that was still dirty from comming off the transport truck. The salesman saw us looking at it, as we were on our way to the truck section, and next thing we new, we were the owners of a minivan….we had joined the “minivan family”!!
We found that the powered seats could go quite low and the tinted windows were very private, but soon enough, people started to recognize us!
Then we found that we were spreading the bug too as one of our friends from church sold there car and bought a minivan too.
All that to say, that after the initial adjustment was over we are loving it now.
Although tires won’t squeel, and doughnuts in reverse in a minivan aren’t impressive, it can carry us and our two girls…plus a deer in the back (when the back seat is folded down), and there is ample room for all of our ‘stuff’ for a weekend camping trip.
Tom, soon enough, the minvan bug will bite you too; but no worries….it only hurts for a while!! :)
