It's a tiny, and I mean tiny, versatile pasta originating from North Africa. What you would like the best about it is that it cooks in minutes. Both stove top and microwave methods take only two minutes. 1/4 c dried couscous yeilds about 3/4 c prepared.

It even makes a great cooked breakfast cereal. It's cooked in apple juice with your favorite dried fruit, then served with your favorite fresh fruit, nuts or yogurt topping. Think I'll go make some.
