I have seen another way in the southwest. They put a piece of bread on a plate and then spread a little meat over it as if it were gravy and then procede to cut it with a fork and take small dainty bites.

Yeah,thats how they should be- as much meat as possible no matter how you do the bun!

Ok Shell, now that’s fine if you want to do that since you still want a bunch of meat on it. But the heart of the crime here is when the sandwich approach is seemingly used to minimize the meat as much as possible!

I have noticed that out West! You open-facers are just completely messed up. You have to make a sandwhich, pile it full of meat and then attempt to eat it as a sandwhich without getting it all over yourself. Hence the name “SLOPPY Joe”. It’s more fun.

That’s part of it, yes, but the west coast isn’t free of this plague! You will occasionally see it there in the mass group feeds I talked about.

I think this is just a case of the west vs. the east. We out here in utopia know that of course you put meat on each bun!!!
